If a tooth is experiencing an active infection, antibiotics are prescribed for 3-5 days to reduce pain and infection. Local anesthesia is administered prior to treatment so that patients feel comfortable. First, a rubber dam is placed around the infected tooth to ensure dry teeth during the treatment and to prevent the contamination of the canal. After opening the upper layer of the tooth with a dental drill, the dentist will remove the infected tooth.

The next step is to clean the inside of your teeth using a series of small files. With the help files of this, the pulp chamber and canals are cleaned and enlarged. This part may take several hours and may need to be done in a couple of visits. It also depends on an infected tooth. 

During the first visit, the filling is being carried out after the teeth have been cleaned. During the next visit, the fill is temporarily removed, the canal is filled and closed with a crown gear. A crown protects the tooth root from fracturing.
